Mr. Popper's Penguins Mr. Popper's Penguins Hot

Think you've seen this film before? Well, you probably have> but Jim Carey and his supporting cast of REAL Emperor Penguins (oh, and Angela Lansbury) make the classic "businessman discovers family love is more important than money" hollywood movie into something fresh and enjoyable.

Mr. Poppers Penguins: Surprisingly satisfying saccharine storytelling

User Review

User Review
I can’t stand Jim Carrey’s stupid faces. So it was with trepidation that I approached Mr. Poppers Penguins.

More fool me. While dripping in Hollywood saccharine, this is a delightfully entertaining film, with a perfectly matched cast.

Jim Carrey is perfect in the role of a big-league, money-addicted, New York deal breaker who appears to be having a nervous breakdown, while in fact he’s discovering that the love of his family is all that matters … thanks to seven REAL Emperor Penguins that are left to him by his recently departed father.

That’s the film. The entire film.

There are fart jokes, balls to the balls jokes, and all of the other jokes we’ve heard a million times. But they’re done well. And for the most part, come across fresh.

Along with the families and kids surrounding me, I had a jolly good laugh and felt all warm and fuzzy.

Mr. Popper’s Penguins is exactly what a family movie should be: delightful. So grab some kids (they don’t have to be yours) and be entertained.
